Step on the ground where great historical figures once stood

The Convent Entrance was where visitors entered the convent, where the superior or other friars received visitors as well as donations and supplies. The convent's main entrance gives direct access to the Portaria. Fully refurbished, the gatehouse has a marble floor. In the background is the painting "Saint Augustine pushing Heresy beneath his Feet" (1770) by Vieira Lusitano, the original of which is in the National Museum of Ancient Art.
