Art in a unique place
The galleries of the Igreja da Graça are a privileged space for cultural initiatives. Currently, the walls come to life with the exhibition "Pietà" by Santiago Belacqua.
Santiago Belacqua, artist and curator of the exhibition, offers an immersive exploration of one of the most powerful representations in Sacred Art: the renowned image of the Virgin Mary holding the dead Jesus in her arms. But that's not all.
The artist also brings to the Church of Graça a collection of paintings depicting other biblical figures and episodes, such as the Last Supper and the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
In addition to the solo exhibition, Santiago Belacqua showcases a small collection of sacred art by other artists, which can be admired on the staircase.
The exhibition will be on display until March 30th.
